Item
Labeling: To ensure
that you are given credit for all of your items that sell,
please label all consignment items with 3x5 index cards. Please
use the whole card. The color of the card does not
matter. Please do not use handmade tags out of regular paper because they are easily
torn. Cards that
are not 3X5 are easily lost.
Your tag
should look exactly like this illustration:
Safety
Pin
Please use
only one safety pin for attaching
the index card to the clothing item and have the safety
pin go through the index card in one location.
Safety pin size #2, or 1-1/2 inch in length, work best but
are certainly not mandatory. Pins smaller
than 1-1/2" are difficult to apply to the tags, and they
make it difficult to remove the tags when your items are
purchased. Also, tiny pins do not stay closed which
causes your tag to fall off. Orient the pin vertically, up and
down, in the center of the card. It is also advisable
to attach clothing to hangers with safety pins especially
for smaller items and smaller hangers. You can find

Donating
Donating your unsold items is optional.
If you do not want to
donate your unsold items, pick them up at the designated
date and time (see calendar).
If you do not pick up
your unsold items, they will be donated for you.
Price
example : $5.00 Non-clothing items have a $1.00 minimum and
clothing items have a $3.00 minimum.
Please use $1.00 increments only such as $3.00, $4.00 NOT
$3.50 or $3.99.
Discounting
Discounting
is optional: Put
"N%" (for No, do not discount this item) under the price if you do not want the item
to be included in the designated discount days (see calendar).
Non-discounted items will stay on the floor to be sold, but
they will be
sold at full price. If you do want it
discounted, write Y% (for Yes, discount this item) under the price.
Card:
Any color 3x5 index card will be accepted. Please do
not make tags out of paper and do not use 4x6 index cards.
Please do not mark-through information on your card.
If you make a mistake use a new card. All cards
with mark-throughs will have to be re-done at time of drop
off. Cards must be
legible.
Presentation:
Button all buttons, zip
all zippers, snap all snaps and sew loose hems or seams.
Items that are cleaned, ironed and starched with all
pieces attached sell best. Present them at
their best. Be picky.
Pricing:
YOU SET THE PRICE! Price to sell keeping in mind the
quality, name brand and condition of your items. Tot
Trade LA suggests starting at 1/3 of the original price.
We also suggest that you include your items in the discount days. The minimum price for clothing is $3.00
and the minimum price for everything else is $1.00.
Price your items in $1.00 increments.
TOT TRADE reserves the right
to price any item that doesn't have a price.

Rule
If a single hanging clothing item
isn't worth $3.00 on it's own, please pair it with
something of the same size/likeness that brings the worth
up to the $3.00 minimum.
Consignor
Number Taping Strongly suggested:
As
an extra way to secure the return of your unsold items
should a tag be lost, Tot Trade LA is suggesting that you write
your
consignor number only on a strip of masking tape and tape it on
the inside of your clothing garment (at the collar where the
size tag is). If you have a matching set, please put the
tape on both pieces. You can tape on
any flat surface of your other items as well. It
is inevitable that a few 3x5 index card tags will come off.
If an item does not have a 3x5 index card tag, it will not
be sold. Tot Trade LA will donate all items that do
not have a 3x5 index card tag.
SORTING:
To make drop off easier and less time consuming,
please sort your clothing items by size and gender.
After a volunteer has inspected your items you will
be placing your items in the appropriate sections on the
sales floor. Please note: if you have 100 or more clothing items,
